ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has decided to increase restrictions to combat the third wave of the Coronavirus gripping the country.
“In the NCOC meeting this morning we decided to increase restrictions of activities contributing to sharp increase in covid positivity,” tweeted Asad Umar, the head of the country’s centre for the fight against coronavirus,
“The provincial & ICT administration were also directed to tighten implementation of sop’s and crackdown on violations which are taking place,” he said.

His tweet came as Pakistan reported 3,669 new Coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.
According to the NOC, 43,498 tests were conducted during this period with infection rate of 8.43%. Punjab is the most affected province with infection rate exceeding 10 percent.
Apart from Punjab, Islamabad also faced a new wave of Coronavirus cases.
