Pakistan to make important decision on reopening educational institutions today

ISLAMABAD: The Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) will decide today whether or not educational institutions across the country will be reopened from September 15.

A meeting of the provincial chief ministers, with health officials, will take place Monday with Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood in the chair.

Officials of the health department and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) will also be present in the meeting to decide on the health SOPs and recommendations on reopening of educational institutions.

The recommendations will then be presented to the National Command Operation Centre (NCOC) for further deliberations among all the stakeholders.

Educational institutions in the country were shut on March 13 in a bid to curb the spread of coronavirus.
