Tensions have risen between India and Pakistan after the former unilaterally decided to annex India illegally by scrapping Article 370 of the Indian constitution. Islamabad reacted sharply to the news–it downgraded diplomatic ties with India and suspended trade with New Delhi.
On Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan urged the nation to come out every Friday on to the streets for half an hour to show solidarity with the people of Kashmir.
“We want to give the message to the people of Kashmir that we are with you. To the world, we want to show the atrocities that Indians are committing there,” he said.
