PM imposes TV ban on Vawda over shoe stunt

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has sought explanation from Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda over his conduct in live current affairs show of a private news channel, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan confirmed.

In a tweet on Thursday, PM Khan’s Special Assistant on Information said that Imran Khan had barred Vawda from participating in any talk show for 15 days.

The ban came two days after Vawda pulled a military shoe at ARY’s show “Off the Record” in a bizarre attack on all political parties.

The move caused a social media furore prompting PEMRA to ban Kashif Abbasi’s show for 60 days.
