KARACHI: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan will announce the largest development package in the history Pakistan’s history for Karachi.
Taking to Twitter ahead of Imran Khan’s arrival in the rain-raved port city, Asad Umar said this historic work for Karachi will be done jointly by the federal and provincial governments.
“Politics will not stand in the way of development and welfare of the people. The same thing will happen in other parts of Sindh,” he said.
Umar said that Pakistan’s winning streak has started, adding all elements of state including civil and military leadership as well as federal and provincial governments came together to deal with COVID-19.
He said same approach will be applied to deal with perennial problems of Karachi.
The minister said Pakistan’s success against Coronavirus pandemic has been globally recognized and now revival of the country’s largest city will begin.
Prime Minister Imran Khan will unveil a massive development plan for Karachi worth Rs802 billion during this visit to address the city’s major problems including sewerage, transport and provision of clean drinking water to the masses.
