PSL 2021: Islamabad Utd take on defending champions Karachi Kings today

Two-time PSL champions Islamabad United will take on defending champions Karachi Kings in match number 22 of the 6th edition of the cricket league.

Islamabad, have secured back-to-back victories since the remainders began, while Karachi has only played one match and has lost that. They made a strong comeback in the last two matches after losing their first game against Lahore Qalandars.

They have won against Quetta Gladiators by a huge margin of 10 wickets and followed by winning the game last night in the second match against Lahore Qalandars in this tournament by 28 runs.

The very strong Islamabad united under the captaincy of Shadab Khan is now on the top of the points table dethroning Lahore Qalandars from the first spot.

Karachi Kings were on the top of the table since the second leg of the tournament started in Abu Dhabi, they are now at the fourth spot in the table and will be looking to secure a good win today against Islamabad United.

Karachi Kings went down to Multan Sultans by 12 runs in their last PSL encounter in Abu Dhabi. They conceded 176 runs, bowling first and when it was their turn to bat, they were restricted to 164 for 7. Babar Azam stood out with 85 not out off 63 balls, but his individual brilliance was not enough for his side.

The last time these two teams met in PSL 2021, Islamabad United had defeated Karachi Kings by five wickets, chasing down a target of 197 runs in Karachi.
