ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain has said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf will fulfill another election promise when the parliament passes a law granting the right of vote to overseas Pakistanis.
In a tweet, today (Wednesday), Chaudhry said the laws regarding the use of electronic voting machines in elections and the right of vote to overseas Pakistanis will prove to be a milestone in strengthening democracy in the country.
The Joint sitting of the parliament started at the Parliament House in Islamabad on Wednesday with Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser in the chair.
The government will table a number of bills in a bid to seek parliamentary approval.
The opposition said that it would resist an attempt by the government to adopt what it calls flawed laws.
