ISLAMABAD: PTM leader Mohsin Dawar has extended his best wishes to opposition parties for staging their first anti-government rally in Gujranwala.
Dawar’s message amid reports that he was uninvited by Pakistan Democratic Movement (PTM), an alliance of opposition parties, to attend the jalsa.
The outspoken PTM leader, however, prayed that the jalsa would prove to be a turning point in the country’s political history.
“Best wishes for #PDMGujranwalaJalsa. May it prove to be a turning point in the political history of Pakistan. We still have a long way to go for complete civilian supremacy and real democracy in this country. Every step in that direction needs to be cherished and supported,” Dawar tweeted.
Maryam Nawaz, Bilawal Bhutto, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Khawaja Asif, Ahsan Iqbal, Javed Hashmi and other top leaders of the opposition parties will address the gathering.
It is noted here that the PDM was formed by opposition parties in its bid to oust Imran Khan-led PTI from power, accusing it of grabbing the power through vote fraud.
