ISLAMABAD: The Punjab government said that it was closing schools for a week due to the rising cases of Coronavirus in the province.
Taking to Twitter on Friday, Education Minister Murad Raas announced that all private and public schools in Punjab would remain closed from September 6 to 11.
“Please stay home and stay safe. Protect yourself and your families,” it added.
The announcement came after a record incraese in new Covid cases across Pakistan.
According to data shared by the NCOC, 57 people lost their lives over the last 24 hours while another 3787 people contracted the deadly virus.
The number of critical patients also rose to 5606, it added.
