Record increase in manpower export to Gulf countries

Data Compiled by the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment indicates record increase of manpower export to Saudi Arabia by 207% in the first ten months of this year.

The Ministry of Overseas assisted over 258,215 Pakistanis to Saudi Arabia during the first ten months of 2019 while the figure was 84,091 in the corresponding months last year.

Emigrants to Oman in the said months were 23,998 that is 5.8% increase as compared to that of last year.

Special Advisor to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Overseas Pakistanis and HRD (OPHRD), Zulfi Bukhari said “Thanks to the goodwill of Prime Minister that my Ministry was able to achieve 207% increase in manpower export to Saudi Arabia”.

Bukhari has paid several visits to UAE to explore new avenues for manpower exports and to pace up the recruitment process.

Several projects are underway which will bring record increase in the number of Pakistanis working abroad – the details of which will be released in annual review report later this month.
