ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said that India is a a threat to its neighbours that include Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and China, adding that the region was a “hotspot” that could flare up anytime.
India is a threat to its neighbours to China, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and to us,” said the premier. “It has the most extremist racist government in the subcontinent. It is a fascist state inspired by the Nazis in the 1920s and ‘30s.”
The prime minister was speaking to German magazine Der Spiegel during an interview where he called the world’s sole superpower, the United States, to be “evenhanded” when it comes to dealing with India.
The prime minister said that it was wrong on America’s part to think that India can contain China in the region.
Yet again, the prime minister drew parallels between the RSS and the Nazi party, saying that the former wanted to destroy Muslims just like the latter had massacred millions of Jews.
Biden may be leading the polls but Trump unpredictable: PM Imran Khan
When asked questions about the upcoming US Presidential Election 2020, the prime minister had interesting things to say about incumbent American president Donald Trump. He said that while Biden was ahead in the polls, Trump could not be ruled out as he was a “unpredictable” man.
Drawing parallels between his and Donald Trump’s political career, the premier recalled how he set up his own political party and managed to make it a big success.
“We were the first to rely on social media and the first to attract the youth to our rallies,” he said. “We had to be very unorthodox, and in some ways, Donald Trump does that too.
“As a politician who started his own party and then built it up into the biggest party in Pakistan over 22 years, I also had to do a lot of out-of-the-box-thinking,” he added.
