ISLAMABAD: A senior official of the Security Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has been reported missing from Islamabad, family and friends say.
Sajid Gondal, a former Dawn reporter and additional deputy director of the SECP, was picked up from the capital city last evening. His vehicle was found parked Near National Agriculture Center.
The SECP official is accused of leaking information to reporters about the business of powerful people.
According to Pakistan Media Watch, Gondal was first questioned in his office before being abducted by unknown people.
The abduction came a day after Prime Minister Imran Khan boasted about the state of press freedom in Pakistan in an interview to a foreign publication.
