Seven more Lahore areas go under lockdown

Authorities in Lahore imposed smart lockdown in another seven city areas at 12:00 midnight in a bid to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

The areas area: Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Gulberg, Gulshan-e Ravi, Garden Town, Faisal Town, Model Town and Walled City.

The decision came after 3,613 cases of coronavirus were said to be reported in those areas.

All the entry and exit points of these areas were sealed by placing barriers and police officials were deployed to check the movement of the residents.

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid said that strategies have been formulated to force the residents to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) prepared by the government against coronavirus.

Dr Yasmin Rashid also lauded doctors, nurses and the paramedical staff for serving on the frontline against the deadly disease.
