Siddharth Malhotra to star in Rowdy Rathore 2 after Akshay Kumar exits

Siddharth Malhotra to feature in yet another cop drama after featuring in the Rohit Shetty web series. The producers of the film Shabina Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali have now started working on the sequel of the 2012 movie. The movie was the remake of SS Rajamouli’s Vikramarkudu.

If rumours are to be believed Akshay Kumar wasn’t too keen on featuring in the sequel and hence the makers have locked Siddharth Malhotra to feature as the rowdy cop.

While the first edition was directed by the ace choreographer and director Prabhudeva, the sequel will be directed by the Aneez Bazmee who has delivered the blockbuster movie Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in the recent past which had Kartik Aryan, Tabu and Kiara Advani in lead roles. Interestingly, Kartik had replaced Akshay Kumar in the film as well.

There are speculations that Kiara Advani is being considered to play the female lead in the movie. The real-life couple were last seen together in the movie Shershaah and were showered with immense love for their on-screen chemistry.

The film is expected to go on floors in May and the is story has already been finalized.
