Alarm bells sound for govt as Delta variant cases spike in Islamabad

Twenty-five cases of the new Indian coronavirus variant “Delta” were reported in many hospitals of Islamabad. Smart lockdown has been imposed in many areas starting today Monday morning.

The areas affected by the new variant and lockdown include Qurtaba Town, Sector G11, F63, and Civil Garden H-Block.

Coronavirus cases are on the rise again as the positivity ratio jumps past 3% and the new cases reported in the country today passed the 1500 grim milestone.

Since the past week, the rise in coronavirus cases can be witnessed as the government relaxes restrictions on the reopening of restaurants, parks, gyms, salons, and other activities.
