Misbah includes Akmal, Shehzad in probables for Sri Lanka series

Pakistan cricket team’s Chief Selector and Head Coach Misbah ul Haq has included the names of Umar Akmal and Ahmed Shehzad in the probables for the upcoming T20I and ODI series against Sri Lanka, on Monday.

According to details, Misbah has included both swashbuckling batsmen, Shehzad and Akmal, in the 20-man training camp.
The camp will help prepare the team for its upcoming ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka which is set to begin from September 27 to October 9, in Pakistan.

Misbah will announce the names of the players who make the squad this Saturday. The chief selector and head coach has, according to media reports, banned oily food for members of the training camp and has stressed on high fitness standards for those partaking in the camp.

All-rounders Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik, who had both announced retirement from ODI cricket after the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 concluded, have not been included in the training camp.

Hafeez and Malik have also been issued a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) to play in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

This is the second time Sri Lanka is touring Pakistan since the deadly bus attack on the team in 2009. Sri Lanka last came to play a T20 in Lahore in 2017 under the captaincy of Thisara Perrera, who has decided to opt out of the tour this time.
