‘Sukoon was absent in my life’ Ayesha Saif blames Maryam Nawaz for her divorce

Ayesha Saif, the former wife of Junaid Safdar , blamed her former mother-in-law Maryam Nawaz for ruining the “privacy” of their married life leading to their divorce.

In her reaction posted on social media, Ayesha Saif said that she wanted to clarify some points regarding her divorce with the son of the PML-N leader.

She said that The Almighty Allah says in the Holy Quran that He has created husband and wife so that they could live with each other peacefully. “And although wealth and other facilities play an important part in today’s life, still that Sukoon (peace) was absent in my life,” she said,

She added that the ‘Sukoon’ she was looking for was never there after she tied the knot with Junaid. “I was never provided with enough love or ‘sukoon’ that any wife expects from her husband. I am happy with my divorce and I want to move ahead in my life, or better.”

She went on to say that she was happy that now she has got divorce. “Now I want to start my life afresh,” she added.

She requested people not to intrude into her private life by discussing her divorce on social media. “My privacy matter a lot to me but maybe my then mother-in-law doesn’t understand this basic human need,” she said.

A day earlier, Junaid Safdar confirmed that he has parted his ways with wife Ayesha Saif after two years of marriage.

Taking to Instagram, Junaid said: “News about my divorce is true. This is an entirely private matter and I request the media to respect our privacy.

“I hope with this decision we find our peace InShaAllah. I will speak no further on this matter. I wish her well.”

Junaid also removed his pictures with his ex-wife from the social platform. The couple’s tied knot in August 2021 in lavish ceremonies in London and Lahore.
