TV journalist, team assaulted by IB officials in Karachi

Karachi: ARY news show “Sar-e-Aam” host Iqrarul Hassan and his team were thrashed by a team of a federal intelligence agency for “unveiling corruption” behind an intelligence bureau inspector through video graphic evidence.

According to Iqrarul Hassan, his team discovered that an official was taking bribes while going door to door for Nadra verification in a sting operation in orange town, Karachi.

Subsequently, the host and his team members were taken hostage, tortured and brutally beaten by the officers.

Hassan was taken to Abbasi Shaheed hospital quickly where he received first aid medical treatment and stitches. Doctors say that his condition has improved and he is now out of any danger.

While speaking to ARY news, Iqrarul Hassan said he and his team were first stripped nude, beaten, and subjected to electrical shocks on sensitive parts of their bodies upon the orders of IB director Syed Rizwan.

It has been said that the prime minister’s house has taken notice of the incident and suspended five officials of the IB.

According to the details, the intelligence bureau director who ordered the torture, Syed Rizwan, has been suspended alongside him other suspects Mehboob Ali, Inam Ali, Rajab Ali and Khawar
