Two Pakistan soldiers martyred, 3 Indian troops killed in border skirmish

RAWALPINDI: Two Pakistani troops have been martyred in ceasefire violations being carried out by India along the Line of Control (LoC).

According to a statement issued by the ISPR, the media wing of Pakistan army, Naib Subedar Kandero andn Sepoy Ehsan embraced martyred in Dewa Sector.

In reply, Pakistan Army targeted Indian posts in Haji Pir Sector killing three enemy soldiers including a Subedar and injured few.

“Indian CFVs along LOC during the last 36 hours. Responding to CFVs, in Haji Pir Sector Pakistan Army troops damaged Indian post killing 3 Indian soldiers including a Subedar, few injured too. In Dewa Sector Naib Subedar Kandero and Sepoy Ehsan of Pak Army embraced Shahadat,” it said.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi condemned the latest cease-fire violation and paid tributes to the two martyred soldiers.

The foreign minister said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on a mission to disrupt peace in the region.

Tensions in Muslim-majority Kashmir — which is divided between Pakistan and India but claimed by both in its entirety — have escalated since August, when India downgraded the autonomy of the portion of Kashmir it administers and imposed a lock-down.

The two nuclear-armed neighbors have two of their three wars over Kashmir after gaining independence from British rule in 1947.
