US special envoy for Afghanistan Khalilzad to arrive in Pakistan

US special envoy for Afghanistan reconciliation Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad will arrive in Islamabad on Monday to hold talks with Pakistan officials regarding the ongoing Afghan peace process.

Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad will meet with the civil and military leadership.

According to report, Khalilzad will hold discussion with Pakistani officials over the next phase of the Afghan peace process.

The US envoy will request Pakistan’s further assistance on the reconciliation process.

The visit two days after the Afghan government and Taliban began peace talks in the Qatari capital, Doha.
