Pakistan born Australian cricket player Usman Khawaja left for India to join his team in Bengaluru on Thursday. His team had already left on Wednesday but he couldn’t accompany them due to the visa delays. Usman Khawaja has shared the news of him waiting for his visa on his Instagram account.
Later he updated his fans that he is enroute to India after finally getting his visa. He captioned the picture, India, meh arah hoon (India I am coming). 🇦🇺->🇮🇳 #incoming #khawajyenroute 🏏
A Cricket Australia rep had said from the entire squad only Usman Khawaja didn’t receive his visa on time. The Australian team will be meeting India to play a four-test series.
The 36-year-old, left-hander was awarded Shane Warne award as Australia’s men’s Test player of the year for scoring 1020 runs in a calendar year.
The first Test match between Australia and India is slated to happen in Nagpur on February 9 followed by New Delhi, Dharamshala and Ahmedabad post which the ODI series will commence.
