Zahir Jaffer’s family issues statement on Noor Mukadam murder

ISLAMABAD: The Jaffer family on Wednesday issued a statement denouncing the actions of the alleged killer of Noor Mukadam, saying that they will “forever denounce Zahir and his actions”.

“The Jaffer family extends its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Noor Mukadam. We pray her soul rests in eternal peace. We know that no amount of time will bring back the joy you have lost nor ease your pain,” read a statement from the Jaffer family, a week after the grisly murder took place.

Noor Mukadam’s murder shocked people across Pakistan as police arrived on July 21 to find out that Zahir Jaffer had beheaded the woman. As per media reports, Zahir had tortured Noor Mukadam prior to her murder with a knuckle duster.

“Our shock and grief at this horrific act has led to a prolonged silence that we very much regret. However, we categorically condemn this atrocity and forever denounce Zahir and his actions,” said the Jaffer family.
