AC Milan’s striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has decided to end his career spanning more than two decades. His career has been a celebrated one, filled with trophies and multiple achievements after playing with many European clubs and the some of the best players in football history.
Zlatan’s contract with the Italian club ends in June and the Swedish player won’t be renewing his contract owing to multiple injuries.
Addressing the fans at the San Siro, Zlatan said, “I say goodbye to football but not to you. The first time I arrived you gave me happiness, the second time you gave me love. I want to thank my family and those close to me for their patience.”

Talking about his decision to retire, the 41-year-old striker said, “It was a long career, really long, thank you to everyone who gave me the strength, the adrenaline, and the emotion to continue.”
Zlatan started his career at Malmo FF in 1999 and left for Ajax Amsterdam in 2001 after that, the striker played with some of the top-rated European football clubs, including Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, PSG, Manchester United and AC Milan. The legendary striker has scored 561 goals for club and country.
