KARACHI: Former president Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Karachi on Friday, a couple of days after he was granted bail on medical grounds by the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
Zardari arrived in a Sindh Government aircraft. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah also accompanied Zardari from Islamabad to Karachi in the flight.
The former president’s flight landed at Karachi airport at 9:09pm at terminal one. He traveled from the flight to the airport lounge in a wheelchair.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari arrived with a large number of workers to receive Zardari.
Later on, the former president left the airport as part of a large convoy of motor vehicles. He first reached the DHA residence of his sister Faryal Talpur to meet her. Asif Zardari and Faryal Talpur discussed affairs of the party at the latter’s residence.
Also present on the occasion were Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, and other lawmakers. Later on the former president reached Bilawal House in Clifton. His health treatment at a privately run hospital is expected to begin today (Saturday).
