Ali Gul Pir and Ali Zafar are once again at loggerheads, after arrest warrants of the former were issued by a court Wednesday in the defamation case filed by the latter.
A Lahore district court had issued Ali Gul Pir and Iffat Omar’s arrest warrants a day earlier in the defamation case filed by Ali Zafar. Iffat’s application seeking exemption from personal appearance was rejected while Ali Gul Pir’s non-bailable warrants were issued. The court had rejected permanent exemption from appearance appeals filed by other suspects in the case.
“Job or professional commitments are not a justifiable excuse for permanent dispensation of attendance,” the court remarked.
Ali Gul Pir took to Twitter, lashing out at the Teefa actor without naming him. The comedian said he would not back down nor apologise for making a joke three years ago at Zafar’s expense.
“No matter how many warrants I get, I’m not apologising for a joke I made 3 years back. I’m gona fight it. Any wannabe k-pop singing midlife crisis cockstar can try his best, you will only get what you deserve. End of your already dying career by the truth,” he wrote.

The FIA had named eight people in a challan which included Ali Gul Pir, Iffat Omar and others for running an online defamation campaign against Ali Zafar. The FIA said the suspects had not provided any evidence to back their claim that Meesha Shafi was sexually harassed by Ali Zafar.
They were then booked on September 29 under Section 20 (Offences against the dignity of a natural person) of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act and Section 109 (Punishment of abetment) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
In April 2018, Meesha Sharif accused Ali Zafar of repeatedly sexually harassing her. Ali denied the allegations and brought up a defamation suit against her. The two have since been engaged in a legal battle.
The suspects in the case have clarified time and again that they have attended hearings of the case.
