Renowned American writer and activist Jeffery Shaun King and his wife Rai King have converted to Islam on the start of Ramadan.

In a live Instagram broadcast shared by Professor Khaled Beydoun shows Shaun and Rai King pronouncing Shahadah (testimony of faith) with the help of Sheikh Omar Suleiman.

Jeffery Shaun King (born 1979) is an American writer and activist. King uses social media to promote social justice causes, including the Black Lives Matter movement.

King was raised in Kentucky and received his undergraduate degree from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. He became a pastor and founded the Courageous Church, Atlanta in 2008.

Shaun, aged 44, is best known for his advocacy of movements associated with the Democratic Party such as Black Lives Matter.

On December 25, he claimed that Instagram banned his account due to his support for Palestine against Israel in the ongoing war.

Shaun, with over six million followers, expressed frustration over Instagram’s ban on him for advocating for Palestinian rights and dignity.

Shaun has been sharing numerous pro-Palestine posts since October 7, highlighting the destruction in the Gaza Strip and calling for an end to Israel’s brutal war on the territory.
