Famous Hollywood actor Armie Hammer spoke to Air Mail and made some shocking revelations about his past life and the accusations made against him. The actor was accused of sexual misconduct and he accepted his mistakes calling his behaviour ‘selfish’. He admitted living a very ‘intense and extreme lifestyle’. He said that he used people to make himself feel better.

He revealed that his behaviour stems from childhood trauma where he was abused by a youth pastor at the age of 13 and feeling ‘powerless’. He said, “Sexuality was introduced to me in a scary way where I had no control. My interests then went to: I want to have control in the situation, sexually.”

He also revealed that he had suicidal thoughts in 2021 where he swam as far as he could in the ocean and “hoped that either I drowned, or was hit by a boat, or eaten by a shark.” He however swam back because little children were waiting for him at the shore.

Armie and his wife of ten years Elizabeth Chambers announced they were splitting in 2020 due irrecoverable differences. She revealed the time she spent with Armie Hammer during the quarantine as ‘the worst’ and said “they had grown too far apart to make their relationship work.”

She also said that she was completely unaware of Armie’s misconduct, “I was learning things as the public was,” Chambers explained. “I was like, there are no words.”

The actor lost out of many mega projects such as Shot Gun opposite Jennifer Lopez, Gaslit opposite Julia Roberts and Sean Penn, The Godfather-inspired Paramount+ series The Offer and Taika Waititi’s Next Goal Wins after the news of his misconduct spread like wildfire. He checked himself into a rehab in 2021.

Armie credits Robert Downey Jr for lending him a helping hand in the time when he was cancelled worldwide. He said, “The minute anyone does anything wrong, they’re thrown away. There’s no chance for rehabilitation.” He believes that no one will work with him now because if they do then they will be tagged as ‘people who support abusers’.
