As criticism mounts on Azhar Ali, Sarfaraz throws his weight behind the skipper

Former Pakistan cricket team captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has thrown his weight behind Test captain Azhar Ali, tweeting in his support on Monday and urging him to “stay strong” as critics continue to take shots at him.

In a tweet message, the former skipper promised Azhar that Pakistan “will bounce back” in the second Test match.

Bhayya stay strong, Insha’Allah we will bounce back,” he said.

Critics slammed Test captain Azhar Ali after Pakistan lost the first Test match against England by three wickets which could have been won after Pakistan led by more than 100 runs. However, a batting collapse meant Pakistan were out for less than 250 runs in the second innings. Woakes and Buttler won the match for England in the end.
