Babar Azam delivers powerful speech after emphatic win over India

DUBAI: Babar Azam delivered a powerful speech inside the dressing room after Pakistan registered their first-ever win over arch-rivals India in a World Cup match on Sunday.

Azam-led Pakistan side thrashed India by 10 wickets in their campaign opener at the ICC World T20 2021 at the Dubai International Stadium.

Congratulating his team after the spectacular performance, Azam told the players to avoid getting overexcited and focus on winning the World T20 title for Pakistan.

In a video shared by the Twitter handle of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Azam can be heard reminding his teammates that the historic win was a collective effort and not a result of any individual performance.

“Look guys, this win was not a result of any individual performance. We gave a complete team performance and we do not have to let go of this. This is just a start, enjoy it, but do not get over-excited after beating India. We need to look ahead and our focus is to win the T20 World Cup. We will never be relaxed, just look to give your 100 percent. Please, do not get overexcited,” Azam said while addressing his teammates in the Pakistani dressing room.

“We have a habit of being inconsistent, but please do not do this. We have to change this and it will hopefully. Well done boys for the win against India,” Azam added.
