Babar Azam now has the second highest T20 centuries

The Pakistan skipper scored his third T20 century against New Zealand on Saturday at the Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore. This takes Babar Azam a step closer to beating the record of the highest T20 centuries which is currently held by the Indian Skipper Rohit Sharma who has the four T20 centuries to his credit.

During the match Babar scored his fifty in 36 balls and then accelerated his innings from there, scoring the next 51 runs in 22 balls which included 36 runs in the last 18 balls.

Following the two skippers, Rohit Sharma and Babar Azam are Czech player Sabawoon Davizi (3 tons and 5 fifties), Australia’s Glenn Maxwell (3 tons and 10 fifties), New Zealand’s Colin Munro (3 tons and 11 fifties) and Indian batsman Suryakumar Yadav (3 tons and 13 fifties).

Pakistan is currently playing five match series against New Zealand and have bagged two wins against the black caps. If New Zealand wants to win the series, they will have to win all the three remaining matches.

The third match of the series will be played today at the Gadaffi Stadium Lahore.
