Pakistani white-ball captain Babar Azam, with his latest unbeaten knock of 64 runs in the National T20 Cup, added another feather to his cap when he became the highest run scorer of the format in 2020, surpassing Alex Hales.
Azam, 25, played an unbeaten innings of 64* to help his side Central Punjab beat Balochistan in the National T20 Cup match in Rawalpindi.
This was also Babar’s third consecutive half-century in the tournament.
After this innings, Babar’s total tally of runs reached 942 in T20 — which makes him the highest run getter in the shortest format of the game, surpassing Alex Hales who has so far scored 895 runs this year in the same format.
