Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted a ‘cold wave’ likely to surge different cities Sindh from Thursday. As per the forecast, “A cold wave is likely to grip Sindh from Jan 12 to Jan 17. Under its influence, minimum temperature may drop to 2-4°C in Larkana, Qambar Shahdadkot, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Jamshoro, Dadu, Tharparkar districts.”
The mercury levels in the northern Sindh regions of Larkana, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Qambar, Shahdadkot, and the southeastern district of Tharparkar, will remain between 2-4°C.
As per the MET department rain and snowfall is to be expected in Quetta, Zhob, Barkhan, Ziarat, and other parts of Balcohistan which directly affects the temperatures in cities like Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta and Tando Muhammad Khan. As per the MET Dept, the temperatures in different cities of Sindh, are likely to cross 5°C.
Moderate rain is also predicted in different parts of Punjab like Islamabad, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Okara and Lahore from January 11 till 13.
PMD has also predicted cold and dry weather in most parts of the country while cloudy weather in western and upper regions in the next 24 hours.
