ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan cricket captain Imran Khan won an ICC Twitter poll, beating the incumbent Indian skipper Virat Kohli by a narrow margin.
The poll was launched by the global cricket body with the options of Imran Khan, current India captain Virat Kholi, South African great AB de Villiers and current captain of Australia’s women Team Meg Lanning in the running.

According to the ICC, a total of 536,346 votes were polled with Imran Khan securing 47.3% of the votes. He was closely followed by India’s Virat Kohli who received 46.2% of the votes.

Ab de Villiers collected 6% of the votes while Meg Lanning ranked last after securing 0.5% of the votes.
The ICC said that for these four players the captaincy stood out for them and became a blessing for them. It said the players averages improved when they became leaders of their dressing room.
