Actress Mahira Khan is set to play Pakistan’s Army, first female three-star general Nigar Johar in upcoming biopic.
The ISPR venture based on Nigar Johar’s biopic ‘Ek hai Nigar’ starring Mahira Khan and Bilal Ashraf, is written by Umera Ahmed and helmed by director Adnan Sarwar.
The Pride of Pakistan, Nigar Johar is the first and only woman to be promoted to lieutenant-General and surgeon general of Pakistan in the Pakistan army.
Turning to instagram, Mahira Khan pens a note on playing the role of a woman she admires along with the trailer of the telefilm.
The Humsafar actress wrote, “Honoured to be able to play a woman I admire so much. Pakistan Army’s first female three-star General. ‘Aik Hai Nigar’ traces the life and career of Lieutenant General Nigar Johar.”
“What a life, what a story… to know her, is to know one of the greatest we have amongst us. Bismillah,” she concluded.
Unquestionably, Nigar is a trendsetter. The capable surgeon has transcended prejudices and set new standards. The telefilm will be a treat to watch.
