Nadia Hussain lashes out at ‘social media idiots’ in latest Instagram post
Nadia Hussain, model, actress and entrepreneur, has lashed out at people who are constantly fighting each other on social media, labelling them as idiots in her latest Instagram post.
Social media these days, especially Twitter, can be full of toxic messages and statuses. People often argue with one another without thinking and injure each other’s sentiments.
Nadia Hussain shared a quote on instagram by an Italian contemporary writer, Umberto Ecom with the caption: “INVASION OF THE IDIOTS!!!”
The quote written by the Italian writer goes like this:
“Social media gives legions of idiots the right to speak when they once only spoke at a bar after a glass of wine, without harming the community … but now they have the same right to speak as a Nobel Prize winner. It’s the invasion of the idiots”
A few comments agreed with Nadia Hussain, saying that indeed, social media was full of toxicity and arguments. Others, however, advised her not to generalise and call insulting names to people.
The recent murder of Noor Mukadam, who was the daughter of a former Pakistani ambassador, has shaken women to the core across the country.
Many have demanded an end to gender-based violence, misogyny and patriarchy. These statuses and tweets have been met with insults on various social media platforms.
