Pak vs Eng: Babar Azam holds bowlers responsible for 2nd T20I loss
Pakistan lost to England Sunday after failing to chase the 201-run target set by England in the second T20I. Speaking to the media, the Pakistani captain held his bowlers responsible for the loss.
Openers Babar and Rizwan added 50 runs in 5.4 overs before Babar fell to England bowler Saqib Mehmood. After his dismissal, none of the batsmen stayed for long at the crease and returned quickly to the dressing room.
The batsmen were under pressure as the run rate kept piling up, said the skipper during the post-match press conference.
Babar Azam gave credit to England’s spin attack for keeping the Pakistani batting line up at bay and enabling the teamt to win.
Rizwan was the top scorer with just 37 off 29 balls, with Shadab Khan remained not out on 36 off 22 balls and Imad Wasim addied 20 runs.
Admitting that the green shirts played poor cricket, Babar Azam said that they would not repeat their mistakes in the next match and would try to play good cricket.
The three-match series is now leveled 1-1 with the final match scheduled to be played on the 20 July, at Old Trafford, Manchester.
