Pakistan’s Covid-19 positivity rate jumps to 7.79%

ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) reported that the positivity rate for the Covid-19 jumped to 7.79 percent in Pakistan.

According to latest figures shared by the anti-Covid federal body, 4, 537 people have been diagnosed with the Coronavirus over the last 24 hours.

It also recorded the death of 86 people.

At least 58, 203 people go themselves tested for Covid and of them 4, 537 returned as positive.

Meanwhile, 849, 692 people were administered Covid jabs on on 28 July, taking the tally of fully or partially vaccinated people to 27,875,999.

Speaking to media, NCOC head Asad Umar ruled out imposing a complete lockdown in the hart-hit Karachi, saying the lockdown was not a viable solution to control the pandemic.

He called for people to vaccinate themselves in order to defeat the virus.
