PM Imran convenes NCC meeting today on coronavirus situation in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will convene a meeting of the National Coordination Council (NCC) today to discuss and review the coronavirus situation in the country, as cases of the infection continue to rise across the country.

The meeting will be held one day after Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood announced that educational institutions across the country are being closed from November 26 to January 11, 2020 owing to the surge in coronavirus cases.

The education ministers had agreed that winter vacations to students will commence from December 25 to January 10. All educational institutions, after carefully reviewing the situation, will reopen from January 11.

Important decisions are expected to be taken during the meeting, such as the imposition of coronavirus smart lockdowns and the final approval on the educational institutions being closed will be granted by Prime Minister Imran Khan in the NCC meeting today.
