PM Kakar meets Kuwaiti Crown Prince to deepen bilateral relations
KUWAIT CITY: Pakistan and Kuwait have reiterated the desire to further deepen and broaden bilateral relations.
The desire was expressed by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar and Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah during their meeting in Kuwait.
The prime minister reaffirmed the importance Pakistan attaches to its relationship with Kuwait and reiterated the desire to further expand bilateral cooperation in diverse fields.
He underscored the resolve to forge deeper economic engagement between Pakistan and Kuwait-including in trade, energy, IT, Labour, Mineral and investments.
PM Kakar expressed satisfaction at close cooperation between the two countries at multilateral forum. He appreciated the measures undertaken by Kuwait for recruitment of Pakistani manpower in the fields of health, security and infrastructure. The Crown Prince of Kuwait reciprocated the sentiments of the visiting prime minister.
It is pertinent to mention that the Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar is on a two-day official visit to Kuwait with the primary objective of signing of MoUs in multiple areas geared to transforming the six decades’ long bilateral relations into mutually beneficial economic ties.
Earlier upon arrival, the caretaker prime minister was presented with a guard of honour on his arrival at Bayan Palace. Kuwaiti Interior Minister Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah received the prime minister.
A contingent of Kuwaiti static guards presented a salute to the visiting dignitary. The national anthems of the two countries were played on the occasion. The prime minister was introduced to the members of the Kuwaiti cabinet and officials.
Interim Finance Minister Shamshad Akhtar, Energy Minister Muhammad Ali, Commerce Minister Gauhar Ejaz, Climate Change Minister Ahmed Irfan Aslam and Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi accompanied the prime minister.
