HBL PSL 8 24 karat trophy unveiled
The new trophy for the upcoming season of Pakistan Super League (PSL) was showcased today in the Shalimar Gardens by the PCB. The trophy was revealed in the presence of PCB Interim Committee Chairman Najam Sethi, franchise owners and fellow cricketers.
The three pillars of the trophy that are studded with 9,907 sparkling zircon stones, represent the national cricket team’s motto: Unity, Passion, and Strength while the back pillar is embellished with crystals.
Talking about the new trophy, Najam Sethi, the chairman of the PCB interim committee called it a design that ‘encompasses our spirit as a proud nation’ and said, “The Supernova Trophy is a testament to the passion and perseverance of Pakistani people and serves as a source of inspiration for future generations of players.”
He further added, “the trophy has become a symbol of excellence and achievement, something that players and teams strive to lift and hold aloft in victory each year”.
Talking about the upcoming eight edition of HBL PSL he said that this event is very close to his heart and he wants it to “become bigger, better and stronger each year.”
The first match of the HBL PSL 8 is slated to take place in Multan on February 13 between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans. The final will happen on March 19 at the Gadaffi Stadium Lahore.
