Several million additional vaccine does in pipeline for April: Dr Faisal Sultan

ISLAMABADL Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination Dr Faisal Sultan has said that several million additional does of Covid-19 vaccine are in pipeline for April.

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, Dr Sultan wrote that orders have been placed for the purchase of one million doses of Sinopharm and 60000 does of CanSino.

“Our Covid vaccine drive continues. Orders placed for purchase of Covid vaccines (Sinopharm, 1 million doses; CanSino, 60K doses). Arrival expected within days. Several million additional doses in pipeline for April, inshallah,” he tweeted.

The health assistant also spoke to WHO chief Dr Tedros Adhanon on Covid vaccine supply chain especially via GAVI to maintain an adequate and consistent availability, across the world.

“Grateful to him for his support and assurance,” he said.

Earlier the WHO chief said that he reassured Dr Faisal Sultan that the WHO was working with #COVID19 vaccine manufacturers to speed up the Emergency Use Listing process, so that #COVAX can expand its portfolio and deliver doses quicker and in larger quantities. Together, for #VaccinEquity!
