Shehroz Sabzwari defends wife Sadaf Kanwal after social media backlash
Pakistani actor Shehroz Sabzwari on Monday stood by his wife Sadaf Kanwal, defending her against “liberals and feminists” after the former was trolled on social media for days over her recent comments on feminism in Pakistan.
Many people, after Sadaf Kanwal and Shehroz Sabzwari’s interview, had lashed out at the couple on social media and blamed the duo for hypocrisy. A lot of women on social media, pointed out how Sadaf Kanwal and Shehroz Sabzwari had used the same clout among people they were calling liberals and feminists, to promote their careers and were now criticising them.
On SAMAA TV, Shehroz Sabzwari once again criticised people for bullying his wife, saying that 90% of the people sided with Sadaf Kanwal while only 10% of the masses were criticisng her on social media.

He added how feminism has taken a wrong turn and gone towards promoting vulgarity rather than working on women’s rights and oppression. He further added that his wife Sadaf Kanwal has always been with the oppressed women or those who needed help.
He lamented how people had criticised his wife on social media for her past.
Shehroz Sabzwari also said that Sadaf would never promote oppression and will always support women.
