ISLAMABAD: Federal Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari termed as “absolutely unacceptable” the killing of a young boy in Turbat at the hands of paramilitary Frontier Corps.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, Shireen Mazari called for an inquiry into “brazen killing” of Hayat Baloch.

“Absolutely unacceptable – the killing by FC of a young boy Hayat Baloch in Aabsir Turbat, in front of his family. While the personnel responsible have been handed to the police & FIR registered, an inquiry must be held to find out how this brazen killing was allowed to happen,” Mazari tweeted.

Muhammad Hayat, a student of Karachi University, who was on vacation in his hometown Turbat, was allegedly killed by enraged personnel of Pakistani Army on Thursday morning.

He was summarily executed and shot at least ten times after a convoy of Pakistani military was targeted with an IED nearby.

Hayat was initially punched and kicked while his sister and mother pleaded for mercy. However, he was then shot multiple times in front of his sister and mother.

The incident drew outrage on social media where people trended “Justice for Hayat Baloch.”
