Super Mario becomes the biggest film of 2023

Super Mario, based on the classic Nintendo game earned a record breaking $337 million on its opening weekend and earned another $87 million on its second weekend. Currently the movie’s earnings have reached $678 million as the fans are rushing to the cinemas to watch the movie. The earnings from the movie are still rising and the analysts are hoping that the earnings will cross $1 billion mark very soon.

Super Mario has opened as the No. 1 release of 2023 in 26 international markets including Australia, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, UK and Spain. Mario has been topping the charts and facing very little competition from the movies that released along side the animated movie.

Russel Crowe starrer horror drama The Pope’s Exorcist snagged the second spot with the opening of around $9.2 million.

The third place was claimed by John Wick 4 with earning more than $160.1 million domestically after four weeks of its release.
