LAHORE: Thousands gathered at the Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore on Saturday to offer funeral prayers for Khadim Hussain Rizvi, who died on Thursday night after being ill for the past few days.
Pictures and videos of the event were shared on social media, showing thousands turn up at the monument in Lahore to offer funeral prayers for the late cleric.
Khadim Hussain Rizvi died on Thursday night after suffering from fever for the past couple of days, according to his family. The firebrand cleric, known for his vitriol against Pakistan’s political parties and personalities, had led many protests in Islamabad against the government on disrespectful cartoons against Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) or over the Asia Bibi issue.
