Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider lashed out at the Indian government on Monday, saying that all units of Pakistan were united on the issue of Kashmir.
Speaking to media, Mr Haider said that in case of any Indian misadventure, New Delhi would be given a befitting response by the state of Pakistan. He condemned India’s revocation of Article 370 of the constitution and said that New Delhi was openly suppressing the rights of Kashmiris.
“India wants to forcibly change the status of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said. “However, this will only harm the status of Kashmir.”
He blamed India for lobbying against Pakistan internationally and for using every tactic under the sun to make occupied Kashmir a part of its territory.
He said that Pakistan had summoned a joint session of the parliament on Tuesday. Mr Haider said that an emergency session of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir cabinet will also be held on the same day to review the situation.
Mr Haider lamented the Indian violation of human rights in Kashmir, saying that incarcerated leader Yasin Malik was being slowly poisoned by authorities in Kashmir.
