Pakistani TikTok sensation Jannat Mirza on Friday said that the Chinese-owned application must be restored but with terms and conditions, calling on the government to lift the ban on it.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) banned the app, saying that the step was taken after the authority received a number of complaints from different segments of the society against “immoral and indecent” content on the video-sharing application.
Speaking to Geo.tv, Mirza said that the app was a source of income for many people.
“In general, it was a good app,” she said, in support of its merits. “It was an accessible one for every one. So much talent emerged through this app.”
However, she did not shy away from highlighting the negative use of the app.
“But at the same time, it was used for notorious and hate activities,” she added.
