Karachi Kings bid farewell to PSL 8 with an 86 run against Lahore Qalandars

Karachi Kings Sunday defeated Lahore Qalandars by 86 runs after setting up a target of 197 runs. They managed to restrict the Qalandars at 110 runs in 18.5 overs.

Lahore kept on losing wickets in the run chase and were already three wickets in the powerplay. Hussain Talat was the only standout player who managed to score a mere 25 runs. Rashid Khan who has been a valuable asset for the Qalandars in their campaign so far got hit on the helmet by Imran Tahir was sent back to the pavilion after being retired hurt.

Kings are already out of the tournament however they showed good character in their last match and ended their journey on a positive note. In the first innings, opener Mohammad Akhlaq (51 off 36 balls), Tayyab Tahir (40), and  skipper Imad Wasim (45) were the standout players for the Kings.

Captain Shaheen Afridi was not playing this match and instead David Wiese led the Qalandars in the dead rubber.

After this match, the Qalandars will now be facing the Multan Sultans in the Qualifier and this winner of this match will fix a spot for themselves in the final of PSL 8.
