PM, COAS finish consultations on new ISI chief

Qamar Javed Bajwa and Prime Minister Imran Khan have finished consultations about the appointment of new DG ISI.

The consultations began after Prime Minister office refused to issue a notification regarding appointment of Lt-Gen Nadeem Anjum, citing lack of necessary consultations.

This led to a series of meetings between the prime minister and the army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa.

Taking to Twitter, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that the consultation process had completed.

“The process for the new appointment has begun. Once again, the civilian and military leadership have proved they are united and on same page for the country’s stability, integrity and development.,” he added.
