UAE president’s Islamabad visit postponed due to ‘weather conditions’

United Arab Emirates (UAE)’s president Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was set to visit Islamabad and meet Prime Shahbaz Sharif today. However, the visit has been postponed as per the official statement issued by the Prime Minister Office (PMO), “Due to weather conditions, President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s visit to the friendly Islamic Republic of Pakistan scheduled for today has been postponed to a later date.” The new dates of the visit are yet be announced.

Shahbaz Sharif along with the members of the federal cabinet were set to receive the UAE president on the Air Force’s Nur Khan Air Base.

The Emirati president was going to meet the Pakistan premier to discuss an alliance between the two countries for their betterment.

The UAE president had arrived in Pakistan on 25th January and was welcomed by the PM Shahbaz Sharif at the Rahim Yar Khan airport. Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb, caretaker Punjab CM Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi were also present at the airport as a part of the welcome committee. President Zayed had dropped hints of “huge investment in Pakistan”.

Post the meeting PM Shahbaz Sharif took to Twitter and shared his “delight” to receive the UAE president in his “second home”.
